Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) has been named by Northumbrian Water Group as one of five partners that will deliver water and wastewater work worth up to £500million during AMP6.
MMB, the integrated joint venture between global consultant Mott MacDonald and civil engineering and construction contractor JN Bentley, have been awarded two new framework contracts following a successful competitive procurement process. These cover both ‘water and wastewater treatment’ and ‘waste and water networks’.
The new contracts will start on 1st October 2015 and are expected to run until 2025, with a review after five years – an approach that will maximise the opportunity for collaborative working and efficiency.
Bidding and Strategy Director Steve Tetlow said, “We are delighted to have been appointed to these two new frameworks with Northumbrian Water Group, which build on our decade long relationship, and allow us to extend the investment in our local resource base.
“We look forward to working with the other successful framework companies as ‘one team’ to deliver efficiencies and high levels of customer service.”
Worth a total of approximately £20-25million per year in direct revenue to MMB, the new design-and-build frameworks will deliver work similar to that previously undertaken by JN Bentley’s team based in Durham and that designed by Mott MacDonald’s team in Newcastle.
These new awards are testament to the hard work and dedication of these employees over a period of more than a decade.
The awards both secure the existing workload for the teams, and allow for future growth. We need to recognise the opportunity that this steady pipeline brings to build on the solid base we have and invest in our local resources for the long term.
News of these contract awards follows the extension of MMB’s frameworks with both Severn Trent Water and Yorkshire Water into AMP6, which were announced in 2013, and contracts with Anglian Water, United Utilities and Dwr Cymru Welsh Water, that were announced in 2014.
