Environmental engineering specialist JBA Bentley has been commended by the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) for team achievement whilst working alongside the Environment Agency to deliver the Flood Defence Asset Repair Programme of Works.
The ICE in the East Midlands presented JBA Bentley with the Team Achievement commendation at a ceremony held at the Belfy Hotel in Nottingham.
The Asset Repair Programme of Works, currently worth up to a projected £13 million, is delivering repairs to flood defences across Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire. These defences will protect properties, critical infrastructure and prime agricultural land from both fluvial and tidal flooding.
Both teamwork and leadership have been essential to the successful delivery of a challenging programme. The attitude of the team is outstanding; everyone is working hard to ensure that the programme is being delivered efficiently, safely and within budget.
Operations Manager, Ian Bester, said, “This programme is extremely important as it is protecting such a significant number of properties and infrastructure. The team has gone from a standing start in 2014, establishing themselves in Peterborough and developing strong relationships with the client which has contributed towards securing further work. This is testament to everyone’s hard work and commitment to the programme.
“The strong sense of teamwork and leadership between all of the different parties involved in the scheme is proving critical to its success.”
The JBA Bentley Limited joint venture between civil engineering contractor JN Bentley, and water and environmental specialists, JBA Consulting, was established in 2013, and has delivered a number of successful schemes across the UK.
